I’ve always been someone who's had a fear of spiders. It’s been at a point where even killing one in a video game would make me uncomfortable. A strange thought would always wash over me like somewhere in the room a spider would see me kill one on the tv and would want some sort of revenge. Seeing one would be an automatic out of the room on the opposite side of the house situation. Once I even jumped out of my parents' car after seeing on in the back seat. I ended up walking home where my parents yelled at me but a few bruises and some yelling was way more bearable than the thought of that spider.
One night I was in a deep slumber having the worst possible nightmare I could. There was a massive spider hanging over the side of my bed. Behind him, the wall moved like ocean waves made up of nothing but spiders. They all shot webs and covered the room in my own coffin with the only sight left for me to gaze upon to be the glowing eyes of the giant spider overhead. In a deep voice like thunder in the deep, the spider spoke sending shivers down my very spine shooting fear through my blood. “Fear is the greatest reflection of the soul.”
Jumping up in bed I found myself covered in sweat. My body shook with fear as I looked around the room wondering if the spiders around me had somehow managed to see into my dreams. The ideas of what they would do finding out caused me to jump out of bed. Turning on the bathroom light I ran some water to splash on my face to clear away some of the sweat.
My eyes caught the mirror which showed that I had two bumps on my face. Getting closer I pressed one of the bumps. What followed caused me to scream and jump back. The bump moved down my skin to my neck. The second one moved down from my face to my left hand. Out of nowhere more showed up from my face moving across my body stopping in random spots. As I sat there screaming they all started to move back more my neck.
That’s when it happened one by one spider started to fall out of my mouth The numbers doubled second after second till it became nothing but a waterfall of spiders flowing from my mouth. My screams started to become muffled as more and more came out, it became harder and harder to breathe.
As they hit the ground they scattered to the walls covering them in an ocean of spiders much like in my dreams. Staring off into my bedroom I saw the image the spiders had formed of the giant one from my dream. It spoke to me in it’s twisted demonic voice. “Fear is the greatest reflection the soul and your soul reflection my own image.” as the words finished spiders burst from my eyes blinding me as I fell to the ground, suffocating from lack of oxygen, my body dissolving into spider after spider.
