Weird Dream & Owner of a Lonely Heart

Before you continue, there is a song called Owner of a Lonely Heart by the band Yes that I suggest you check out before or after you read this.

Story time: So I haven’t really heard of Yes that much, but I know their songs (if that makes sense). Like I know that Yes is a band, but I can’t name their songs, and I know their songs, but if I hear one of their songs I probably wouldn’t know it was Yes. But don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love their music and pretty much all classic rock, that’s about all I listen to. Anyways, just woke up, and I had a dream where there was this park people went hiking at, but there was a ton of visible dead people there stuck in the ground. And the amount of bodies was exponentially growing. And there were many ongoing investigations for possible murders, but there were just so many bodies it was impossible to tell if it was something natural at the park or if people used it as an unofficial graveyard. So I was in the park walking and looking at the bodies, many of which had inscriptions carved into the ground saying who they were, rather than headstones. I remember seeing one which belonged to a mother of two, and her husband and two kids (both boys, one was a teenager and one was around 7), were standing there. The husband was smiling, while the children looked visible distressed as they looked at their dead mother in the ground. (Side note: do you ever have those dreams where you know something even though it’s not shown to you in the dream? I knew that the father killed the mother, I knew it 100% even though it wasn’t shown to me. And I knew he made his teenage son help him against his will.) The father heeled down, still smiling, and began engraving the ground as was common practice for the bodies in the park. He wrote something along the lines of, and this isn’t exactly correct, but, ‘now you rest where others can see you. And you still ask? Yes, we’re the owners of a lonely heart.’ I was horrified in the dream, because like I said I knew that he killed her. So I kept walking away from them, but looked back and the dad and teenage son were staring at me, the dad with a creepy smile and the son crying, avoiding eye contact, and looking terrified. I kept walking. And then I woke up. I had a desire to listen first to a Yes song, the only one I could name was Roundabout, because it’s on a meme soundboard I have and it has a cool baseline I tried to learn once. But I also wanted to listen to ‘owner of a lonely heart,’ which I didn’t think was a Yes song. In fact I was pretty sure of it (I have this semi-lucid state right before I wake up from a dream if it’s one I’ll remember, where I’m not sure it was a dream or not. In this state, I remember specifically thinking that Owner of a Lonely Heart was NOT a Yes song). But I looked up Yes to fulfill my first desire, and this happened to be their song after all. Weird how our brain does stuff like that. But it’s a great song, I like it a lot.

Ps: I actually did have this dream, I put it in r/creepypasta because I don’t know where else to put it, I’m pretty new to Reddit.
